Weinmannia silvicola, known as Towai or Tawhero, is a tall, evergreen native tree found in northern New Zealand forests. It grows up to 20 m tall and features glossy green leaves with serrated edges and racemes of small white flowers in spring. Towai prefers warm, moist environments and often forms part of mature forest canopies. Its strong timber and ecological value make it important for conservation planting and supporting native biodiversity.
