Kāmahi, Kamahi Tree
Weinmannia racemosa, commonly known as Kamahi, is a versatile and widespread native tree found throughout New Zealand’s forests. It typically grows 8–15 metres tall and features leathery, toothed leaves and distinctive spiked clusters of small white flowers in spring and summer. Kamahi is tolerant of a wide range of conditions, thriving in both lowland and montane environments. Its dense foliage and fast growth make it ideal for revegetation, shelter planting, and enhancing native biodiversity.
