Tilia Petiolaris is a magnificent specimen tree owing to its rich and trailing foliage. The large and lush, leaves emerge lime green in spring, quickly age to dark green with silver undersides, then develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. These are held off cascading branches which also host yellow flowers in summer. It produces a rounded crown as it eventually reaches 15 m tall and 8 m wide. Tilia Petiolaris is a highly aesthetic and elegant tree that is commonly grown as a specimen, used in avenue plantings, or included in a mixed planting in a larger garden.

Tilia Petiolaris Details

Tilia Petiolaris is a magnificent specimen tree owing to its rich and trailing foliage. The large and lush, leaves emerge lime green in spring, quickly age to dark green with silver undersides, then develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. These are held off cascading branches which also host yellow flowers. The fragrant flowers in summer are great for attracting bees and other fauna. It grows with a single trunk and produces a rounded crown as it eventually reaches 15 m tall and 8 m wide. It performs best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site, and is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and dry periods. Tilia Petiolaris is a highly aesthetic and elegant tree that is commonly grown as a specimen, used in avenue plantings, or included in a mixed planting in a larger garden.
