Tilia amurensis Details

Tilia amurensis, commonly known as the Amur Lime, is grown for its lush foliage and great form. The medium sized leaves emerge in spring with a fresh, lime-green colour, then darken slightly, before developing golden tones in autumn and falling. The branching habit is uniform which gives it a tidy and structured appearance overall. Small and fragrant, yellow flowers are borne in summer and these are great for attracting bees. This tree typically grows to 10 m tall and 5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, short periods of dry, and urban conditions. Tilia amurensis is commonly grown as a specimen, used for avenue plantings, or included in a mixed planting in a larger garden.
