Syzygium polyanthum, commonly known Indonesian and Indian Bay Leaf or Daun Salam, is a large tree that produces lush, green foliage atop a slender trunk. Small, white flowers are produced in summer as it grows to 25 m tall and 8 m wide. Syzygium polyanthum is commonly grown as a specimen tree or used in avenue plantings, and the leaves are often used in culinary dishes.
