Syzygium australe (aka Eugenia australe) is commonly known as Creek Lilly Pilly, Brush Cherry, or Watergum. This small, evergreen tree features colourful and glossy foliage with new foliage having a distinct red tint before aging to dark green. This is a fast-growing tree that will reach about 8 m tall and 4 m wide. Syzygium australe is commonly trimmed into a hedge, grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or used for screening and shelter.
