Turepo, Large Leaved Milk Tree
Streblus banksii, commonly known as Turepo, is a NZ native tree growing to about 12 m tall and 4 m wide. It has a spreading canopy atop a short, stout trunk. Juvenile plants have glossy green leaves 2-6 cm long, which grow larger with maturity. In spring, green-yellow flowers appear, followed by fleshy red berries. Streblus banksii is often used for revegetation or in large native gardens.
