The Quercus suber tree is commonly known as the Cork Oak tree due to its rough and spongy bark, which is often used to produce corks. The Cork Oak grows as a large, evergreen tree, typically reaching 20 m tall and 15 m wide with a rounded and somewhat open crown. The foliage is mid-green and very aesthetic. Quercus suber is commonly grown as a unique specimen in extensive gardens and parks with the added advantage of fantastic summer shade.
