Small, yellow-green flowers in spring produce brown acorns in autumn. The Northern Red Oak tree typically grows to 18 m tall and 10 m wide with a somewhat conical and open growth habit. Quercus rubra is commonly grown as a specimen in large gardens and parks, and is also well suited to avenue planting or growing anywhere the beautiful autumn colours can be appreciated.
