Pyrus pendula, commonly known as the Weeping Pear or Weeping Silver Pear, is a small tree grown for its impressive form, foliage, and flowers. It features narrow, silver-green leaves which are held densely on pendulous branches. The foliage is complemented with masses of single, cream-white flowers in spring as it grows to 2.5 m tall and the same wide. Pyrus pendula is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or used in avenue plantings. It is an easy tree to grow and very rewarding.
