Commonly known as the Cherry Laurel, this is an evergreen tree grown for its lush foliage and dainty flowers. It produces large and glossy, dark green leaves which are held densely. The plant is adorned with small and showy clusters of scented, white flowers in summer which are great for attracting birds and bees. It typically grows to 6 m tall and 5 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this tree is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site, though it is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and periods of dry. The Cherry Laurel is commonly trimmed into a hedge, used for screening, added to a mixed planting, or grown as a specimen.
