Populus yunnanensis, commonly known as the Chinese Poplar Tree, is a large and fast-growing, deciduous tree. It features an upright growth habit with a broad crown and host dark green leaves which develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. It will grow quickly to about 25 m tall and 12 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Populus yunnanensis is ideal as a shelter belt, for screening out noise and dust, or for soil conservation and riparian plantings.

Populus yunnanensis Details

Populus yunnanensis, commonly known as the Chinese Poplar Tree, is a large and fast-growing, deciduous tree. It features an upright growth habit with a broad crown. The leaves are dark green leaves and these develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. It will grow quickly to about 25 m tall and 12 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Best growth is achieved when planted in full sun across all soil types except extreme wet and dry. It is hardy to frost, cold environments, dry periods, coastal conditions, wind, and wet soils. Populus yunnanensis is ideal as a shelter belt, for screening out noise and dust, or for soil conservation and riparian plantings.
