Poplar Manawatu Gold is a fast-growing, deciduous tree that features an upright form around a central trunk. The leaves are golden yellow and remain this way until falling in late autumn. It will grow quickly to about 12 m tall and 6 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. It grows best when planted in full sun across all soil types except extreme dry. It is hardy to frost, cold environments, dry periods, coastal conditions, wind, and wet soils. The rapid growth rate of Poplar Manawatu Gold makes it ideal as a shelter belt, for screening out noise and dust, or for soil conservation and riparian plantings. It also makes for a lovely specimen and looks great when used to line an entranceway.
