Commonly known as Tainui, this is a fast growing, NZ native tree that typically reaches 20 m tall and 5 m wide. It features lush foliage that is dark green and glossy. The foliage is complemented with clusters of pale yellow flowers in summer which together produce a lovely display. Best results with this evergreen are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained site. It is a hardy plant that will tolerate extended dry periods, coastal conditions, frost, cool climates, and partial shade. Tainui is commonly added to a mixed planting in a large garden or used in revegetation projects.
