Indian Mast Tree, Ashoka Tree
Polyalthia longifolia, commonly known as the Indian Mast Tree or Ashoka Tree, is a tall, slender evergreen prized for its graceful, columnar form and drooping, lance-shaped leaves. It can grow up to 10–12 metres tall and 1–2 metres wide, making it an excellent choice for narrow spaces or formal screening. The glossy green foliage rustles attractively in the breeze, and small, pale green flowers appear in spring. Polyalthia longifolia thrives in warm, sheltered positions and adds elegance to tropical and subtropical landscapes.
