Platanus x acerifolia Suttneri is a variety of the commonly known, Variegated London Plane Tree. This is a large, deciduous tree grown for its foliage, stature, and colourful bark. The foliage is maple-like, variegated green and white, and lush. As autumn progresses the leaves develop orange and yellow tones before falling. A striking feature for this tree is the white bark as it grows to 12 m tall and 8 m wide. Platanus x acerifolia Suttneri makes a fantastic shade tree and is commonly grown as a specimen in large gardens or parks, or used in an avenue planting.

Platanus Suttneri Details

Platanus Suttneri is a variety of the commonly known, Variegated London Plane Tree. This is a large, deciduous tree grown for its foliage, stature, and colourful bark. The foliage is maple-like, variegated green and white, and lush. As autumn progresses the leaves develop orange and yellow tones before falling. A striking feature for this tree is the white bark which is quite aesthetic. It typically grows to 12 m tall and 8 m wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. It grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site and is tolerant of frost, cool climates, urban pollution, poor soils, and moderate wind. Platanus Suttneri makes a fantastic shade tree and is commonly grown as a specimen in large gardens or parks, or used in an avenue planting.
