Pittosporum eugenioides ‘Variegatum Minimum’ is a showy, NZ native tree. It features dark and slender stems which bear leaves that are variegated bright green and cream. The lush foliage releases a pleasant lemon scent when crushed. The tree is complemented with masses of small and fragrant pale yellow flowers in summer. It grows with an upright and somewhat broad habit to about 12 m tall and 6 m wide, though can be contained with trimming. Best performance with this evergreen is achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of most soil types, except extreme wet or dry, coastal environments, some wind, dry periods, and moderate frost. Pittosporum eugenioides ‘Variegatum Minimum’ is commonly grown as a specimen, planted to provide shelter and screening, or included in a native planting.
