Hakapiri
Olearia traversiorum, also known as Hakapiri or Chatham Island Ake Ake, is a tough and fast growing NZ native tree. This evergreen species has dense, leathery foliage and produces clusters of small white daisy flowers in summer. It naturally thrives in coastal and exposed sites, tolerating salt, wind, and poor soils. Hakapiri is widely used for shelterbelts, screening, and revegetation, making it a practical and attractive choice for lifestyle blocks, farms, and native gardens.
