Olearia traversii, commonly known as the Chatham Island Ake Ake, is a fast-growing, NZ native tree that grows to about 5 m tall and 4 m wide. The leaves are green and oval shaped with a white underside, and complemented with clusters of small, white flowers in summer. Olearia traversii is commonly included in a mixed planting, revegetation planting, trimmed into a hedge, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, or used for shelter on dry, exposed sites.

Olearia traversii, commonly known as the Chatham Island Ake Ake, is a fast-growing, NZ native tree that grows to about 5 m tall and 4 m wide. The leaves are green and oval shaped with a white underside, and complemented with clusters of small, white flowers in summer. Best performance with this tree is achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of coastal conditions, wind, light frost, and periods of dry. Olearia traversii is commonly included in a mixed planting, revegetation planting, trimmed into a hedge, used as a backdrop for smaller plants, or used for shelter on dry, exposed sites.
