Nothofagus fusca, commonly known as Red Beech, is a large, evergreen tree native to NZ. The foliage comprises lush and glossy, dark green leaves which turn red-bronze in autumn. It grows with a broad and rounded habit to about 30 m tall and 10 m wide. Nothofagus fusca makes for a lovely specimen in a larger garden or park, and is commonly added to native and revegetation plantings. It can also be planted for timber production.
