It features fine, fern-like, rich-green leaves which turn shades of copper in autumn before falling. This stately tree grows with a narrow and conical shape to about 20 m tall and 6 m wide, preferring a full sun position and a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, extended dry periods, moderate wind, and a wide range of soil conditions, including wet and heavy soils.
