Meryta sinclairii 'Moonlight' (Variegated Puka)

Meryta sinclairii 'Moonlight' is a fantastic NZ native shrub due to its tropical appearance. It bears large and bold, variegated leaves and will grow quickly to 5 m tall and 4 m wide. This Puka can be trimmed to keep it smaller, which encourages a flush of new growth. Best results with this variegated Puka are achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It will tolerate coastal conditions and short periods of dry, but does require frost protection. Meryta sinclairii 'Moonlight' is an excellent plant for coastal and tropical gardens and is also commonly used as a backdrop for smaller plants. It is perfect for planting around pool and barbecue areas, or growing to border an entrance.
