Malus trilobata, commonly known as Crabapple, features white flower buds that open to reveal showy, white blossoms in spring amidst the lush foliage. The flowers result in small, inedible, green fruits in autumn. The maple-like leaves emerge green in spring, age to a darker green, then develop burgundy red tones in autumn before falling as it grows to 6 m tall and 3 m wide. Malus trilobata is commonly grown as a specimen or used for avenue planting.
