Malus Profusion Details

Malus Profusion is a variety of Crabapple grown for its prolific flowering and colourful fruits. Showy and fragrant, dark pink-red flowers are borne in spring in such abundance that they literally transform the tree. These result in small, red fruit in autumn which attract all manner of wildlife. The foliage in spring emerges red, ages to bronze-green, then develops yellow and orange tones in autumn before falling. It typically grows to 5 m tall and the same wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with this variety is achieved when it is positioned in full sun on a fertile, well-drained site, protected from wind. It is tolerant of cool climates and frost, though late frosts in spring can reduce yields. Malus Profusion is commonly grown as a specimen, maintained in a courtyard garden, used in an avenue planting, planted to border an entrance, or included in a mixed planting.
