Malus micromalus

Malus micromalus is a variety of Crabapple that bears masses of red buds that open to reveal showy, fragrant, semi-double, pink flowers that literally transform the tree. These result in small, red-orange fruit in autumn. The foliage in spring emerges green, ages to a darker green, and then develops yellow tones in autumn before falling. It typically grows to 5 m tall and the same wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Malus micromalus is commonly grown as an impressive specimen, added to a mixed planting, or included anywhere it can be appreciated.
