Malus floribunda is a popular variety of Crabapple that bears masses of crimson buds that open into showy, white flowers with a hint of pink through spring. These result in small, orange fruit in autumn. The foliage emerges green in spring, ages to a dark green, then develops yellow tones in autumn before falling. The branches tend to be horizontal, if not somewhat pendulous in nature as it grows to 4 m tall and the same wide. Malus floribunda is commonly grown as an impressive specimen, used in avenue plantings, added to a mixed planting, or included anywhere it can be appreciated.
