Malus Barbara Ann is a variety of Crabapple grown for its beautiful flowers and colourful fruits. It bears masses of fragrant, double, bright pink flowers through spring. These result in small, dark red-purple fruit in autumn which attract all manner of wildlife. The foliage in spring emerges red, ages to a dark green, and then develops yellow and orange tones in autumn before falling. It typically grows to 4 m tall and 3 m wide, and can be trimmed as necessary. This variety performs best when grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site that does not dry out. It is tolerant of frost and cool climates. Malus Barbara Ann is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or included anywhere the flowers and fruit can be appreciated.
