These are borne on the naked stems before the foliage emerges. The large and lush foliage emerges soon after which changes from green to yellow in autumn before falling. This deciduous tree typically grows to 12 m tall and 9 m wide and responds well to trimming if growth needs to be contained. It grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and is tolerant of frost and cool climates.
