Magnolia Susan Details

Magnolia Susan is grown for its spectacular flowering and compact growth. Red-purple buds open in spring to produce fragrant flowers that are red-purple on the outside and pink within. The blooms appear just before the lush, green leaves emerge. The leaves age to dark green before developing yellow tones in autumn and falling. It typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. This Magnolia grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost and cool climates. Magnolia Susan makes for a wonderful specimen tree and is commonly added into mixed plantings, planted as a cluster, or included in a cottage garden. The beauty of this tree will please no matter where it is planted.
