Magnolia Sundance is a deciduous tree with spectacular flowering. It bears masses of large and showy, cream-yellow flowers through late winter and early spring. These are borne on the naked stems just as the foliage emerges. The large and lush foliage emerges soon after which changes from green to yellow in autumn before falling. This tree typically grows to 7 m tall and 5 m wide, and responds well to trimming if growth needs to be contained. It grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and is tolerant of frost and cool climates. Magnolia Sundance is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting in a large garden, included in a large cottage garden, planted to border an entrance, or used in avenue plantings.
