Magnolia stellata Centennial, commonly known as the Centennial Star Magnolia, is a deciduous tree with spectacular flowering. It bears masses of large and showy, semi-double, fragrant, white flowers with a pink blush on the naked stems before the foliage emerges in late winter and early spring. It typically grows to 4 m tall and 3 m wide and can be contained with trimming as necessary. Magnolia Centennial makes for a lovely specimen and is commonly added into a mixed planting, or planted as a backdrop for smaller plants.

Magnolia stellata Centennial Details

Magnolia stellata Centennial, commonly known as the Centennial Star Magnolia, is an outstanding tree due to its spectacular flowering. It bears masses of large and showy, semi-double, fragrant, white flowers with a pink blush on the naked stems before the foliage emerges in late winter and early spring. The lush foliage emerges dark green in spring, remains this colour until autumn, then develops yellow tones before falling. It typically grows to 4 m tall and 3 m wide and can be contained with trimming as necessary. This variety grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site, and is tolerant of frost and cool climates. Magnolia Centennial makes for a lovely specimen and is commonly added into a mixed planting, or planted as a backdrop for smaller plants. The beauty of this tree will please no matter where it is planted.
