The fragrant blooms are borne amidst the lush, green foliage as it grows to 3.5 m tall and 3 m wide. Magnolia sieboldii is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, included in “white” gardens, or used in avenue plantings.

Magnolia sieboldii Details

Magnolia sieboldii, commonly known as Oyama Magnolia, Korean Mountain Magnolia, and Siebolds Magnolia, is grown for its spectacular flowering. It bears masses of large and showy, white flowers through spring. The fragrant blooms are borne amidst the lush, green foliage which develops yellow tones in autumn before falling. It typically grows to 3.5 m tall and 3 m wide and can be contained with trimming. This variety grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site, and is tolerant of frost and cool climates. Magnolia sieboldii is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, included in “white” gardens, or used in avenue plantings.
