Magnolia Robusta Details

Magnolia sargentiana Robusta is a deciduous tree grown for its spectacular flowering. It bears masses of large and showy, pale pink flowers through late winter and early spring which are borne on the naked stems before the foliage emerges. The leaves emerge mid-green in spring, age to become dark green, then develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. It typically grows to 12 m tall and 6 m wide and can be contained with trimming. This variety grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site, and is tolerant of frost and cool climates. Magnolia Robusta is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or used in avenue plantings.
