Magnolia rostrata, commonly known as Beaked Magnolia, is a deciduous tree grown for its showy flowers and lush foliage. It bears large and showy, ivory-coloured flowers through late spring and early summer. The foliage comprises very large, mid-green leaves which serve as a pleasant backdrop to the flowers. It typically grows to 10 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and is tolerant of frost and cool climates. Magnolia macrophylla is commonly grown as a specimen in a park or large garden.
