Magnolia campbellii Charles Raffill is a deciduous tree that is grown for its spectacular flowering. It bears masses of large and showy, pink and white flowers in spring. The lovely blooms are borne on the naked stems before the foliage emerges. The leaves emerge mid-green in spring, age to become dark green, then develop yellow tones in autumn before falling. It typically grows to 7 m tall and 7 m wide and can be trimmed as necessary. This variety grows best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and is tolerant of frost and cool climates. Magnolia Charles Raffill makes for a fantastic specimen and is commonly added to a mixed planting.
