Luma apiculata Details

Luma apiculata is a small, evergreen tree grown for its lush foliage, tidy form, and pretty flowers. It features small, green leaves held densely on spreading, almost pendulous stems. The foliage is adorned with masses of small, white flowers through summer and autumn which result in purple berries. The colourful, orange bark adds extra interest to this tree. It grows with an open and somewhat spreading habit to about 6 m tall and 4 m wide though it can be contained with trimming. Best results with this tree are achieved when it is positioned in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, dry periods, and coastal environments. Luma apiculata is commonly grown as a specimen, added to a mixed planting, or used in an avenue planting.
