The Liquidambar styraciflua Lane Roberts tree, commonly known as American Sweet Gum, is a popular variety due to its beautiful foliage and brilliant autumn colours. It has star-shaped leaves which emerge a rich, dark green colour in spring. As autumn progresses, the leaves turn impressive shades of deep red and burgundy before falling.
