Liquidambar styraciflua Festeri, commonly known as the Sweet Gum Liquidambar, is grown for its form and fantastic autumn colours. This ornamental tree features lush foliage that is bright green but develops impressive shades of red and orange in autumn before falling. The autumn display is magnificent. It grows quickly with a pyramidal shape to 10 m tall and 7 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Best growth is achieved when planted in full sun on a well-drained, moderately sheltered site.
