“Burgundy” is a variety of Liquidambar grown for its form and fantastic autumn colours. This popular ornamental tree features lush foliage that is mid-green but develops impressive shades of burgundy-red in autumn before falling. The autumn display is magnificent. It grows quickly with a pyramidal shape to 15 m tall and 8 m wide, but can be trimmed as necessary. Best growth is achieved when planted in full sun on a well-drained, moderately sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cold climates, and short periods of dry. This Liquidambar makes a fantastic specimen in a park or large garden, and is well suited to avenue planting.
