Libocedrus bidwillii, commonly known as Kaikawaka or NZ Mountain Cedar, is a handsome NZ native conifer that is grown as wonderful, specimen tree. It grows with a narrow, upright habit hosting dense, dark green, flattened foliage and produces small cones in autumn. It typically grows to 21 m tall and 6 m wide, performing best when grown in full sun on a well-drained site. Libocedrus bidwillii is commonly grown in a large garden as a specimen, included in woodland plantings, or added to a native regeneration project.
