Leptospermum laevigatum, commonly known as the Coastal Tea Tree, is a compact shrub that produces masses of white flowers which literally coat the plant during spring and summer. The foliage comprises small, grey-green leaves which complement the flowers nicely. The Coastal Tea Tree typically grows to 3 m tall and the same wide. Leptospermum laevigatum is commonly used as a backdrop for smaller plants, included in a mixed planting, trimmed into a hedge, or planted around outdoor living areas.

Leptospermum laevigatum Details

Leptospermum laevigatum, commonly known as the Coastal Tea Tree, is a compact shrub that produces masses of white flowers which literally coat the plant during spring and summer. The foliage comprises small, grey-green leaves which complement the flowers nicely. This evergreen shrub typically grows to 3 m tall and the same wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance with the Coastal Tea Tree is achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is a hardy plant that will tolerate frost, coastal environments, and a wide range of soil conditions, barring extreme wet or dry. Leptospermum laevigatum is commonly used as a backdrop for smaller plants, included in a mixed planting, trimmed into a hedge, or planted around outdoor living areas.
