Lepidothamnus intermedius

Yellow Silver Pine

Lepidothamnus intermedius, commonly known as yellow silver pine, is a slow-growing, evergreen conifer native to New Zealand. Found across the North, South and Stewart Islands, it grows up to 15 metres tall and prefers wet, boggy or forested environments. The foliage shifts from soft needle-like leaves in youth to tightly pressed scales as it matures. Ideal for native restoration and wetland plantings, it thrives in moist, shaded conditions and adds valuable structure and diversity to New Zealand forest ecosystems.
