Harpephyllum caffrum, commonly known as Wild Plum or Sour Plum, is a small tree grown for its form, foliage, and fruits. Through summer it bears small, green flowers which result in green berries which age to red. The fruits are set amidst the large, dark green leaves on this sub-tropical tree grows with a dense, rounded crown to about 8 m tall and 6 m wide. Harpephyllum caffrum is commonly included in avenue plantings, grown as a specimen, or planted to attract wildlife.
