Gordonia Moonlight Magic, commonly known as the Fried Egg plant, is a small, evergreen tree renowned for both its attractive foliage and adorable flowers. The foliage comprises glossy, green leaves which develop red tones in the cooler months. Large and showy, white flowers coat the plant from autumn through spring with the petals resembling crushed tissue paper as it grows to 7 m tall and 6 m wide. Gordonia Moonlight Magic makes a lovely specimen and is ideal for avenue planting, including in large cottage gardens, adding to a mixed planting, or trimming into a hedge.

Gordonia Moonlight Magic, commonly known as the Fried Egg plant, is a small, evergreen tree renowned for both its attractive foliage and adorable flowers. The foliage comprises glossy, green leaves which develop red tones in the cooler months. Large and showy, white flowers coat the plant from autumn through spring with the petals resembling crushed tissue paper. It typically grows to 7 m tall and 6 m wide, performing best when positioned in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is hardy to frosts, cool climates, coastal environments, and moderate wind but will produce a better tree if staked and protected while it establishes. Gordonia Moonlight Magic makes a lovely specimen and is ideal for avenue planting, including in large cottage gardens, adding to a mixed planting, or trimming into a hedge.
