Ginkgo Ming Princess is a miniature variety of Ginkgo biloba and is grown for its colourful foliage and variable growth habit. This deciduous tree has distinctive, fan-shaped, rich green leaves which are held on rigid branches. The leaves on this Maidenhair tree turn bright yellow in autumn before falling and form a golden carpet around the tree as they fall. It typically grows to 2.5 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate frost, cool climates, heavy soils, and urban pollution. Ginkgo Ming Princess is commonly grown as a smaller specimen, included in a mixed planting, maintained in a courtyard garden, planted around outdoor living areas, or planted to soften a bland wall.
