Ginkgo Little Weeper, commonly known as the Maidenhair Tree, is grown for its colourful foliage and weeping growth habit. This deciduous tree has distinctive, fan-shaped, rich green leaves which are held on branches that are held with a gentle arch. The branches will eventually reach the ground. The leaves turn bright yellow in autumn before falling and form a golden carpet around the tree as they fall. It typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate frost, cool climates, heavy soils, and urban pollution. Ginkgo Little Weeper is commonly grown as a specimen, included in a mixed planting, maintained in a courtyard garden, planted around outdoor living areas, or planted to soften a bland wall.
