Is the Evergreen Ash suitable for Taupo climate? We get many light frosts through winter. Not severe frosts. We want an evergreen tree in the centre of our back lawn. Grow quickly to 3 to 5 metres high and 3 to 5 metres wide; easy to walk under and have a garden seat up against its trunk. Like the picture on your web page. Thanks. Iain Whittet

They are generally cold-hardy, and our ones in Napier have had several heavy frosts across them without issue. I suggest planting in late spring so the tree can acclimate before the frosts hit next year.
