Ficus microcarpa is a fast-growing, ornamental tree which has a spreading habit supporting a dense, evergreen canopy. The foliage consists of different shades of green with new foliage being glossy and lime green as it grows to 12 m tall and 3 m wide. Chinese Banyan Plant

The Chinese Banyan Plant, Ficus microcarpa, is a fast-growing, ornamental tree which has a spreading habit supporting a dense, evergreen canopy. The foliage consists of different shades of green with new foliage being glossy and lime green. The bark is speckled grey and aerial roots may shoot from the trunk. It typically grows to 12 m tall and 3 m wide but can trimmed as necessary. Best performance is achieved when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site and protected from frost. The Chinese Banyan Plant is commonly maintained as large pot plant, grown as a shade tree, trimmed into a hedge, used for screening, or included in a mixed planting.
