Ficus microcarpa, commonly known as Chinese Banyan, is a fast-growing, evergreen tree valued for its dense, glossy green foliage and broad, spreading canopy. Often used for shade, shelter, and feature planting in parks and extensive gardens, it can grow to 10–15 m in height and width. This hardy species thrives in full sun and well-drained soil and tolerates pruning well. In warmer regions, it’s ideal for topiary, bonsai, or hedging, offering structure and year-round greenery.
