Dinner Plate Fig

The Dinner Plate Fig is the common name for Ficus dammaropsis and is a subtropical tree favoured for its amazing foliage. It produces large leaves that have a pleated appearance. White flowers in late spring result in large, fig-like fruit in early autumn. The fruit are regarded as inedible but do add considerable interest to this small tree. It typically grows to 5 m tall and 3 m wide, preferring a partial shade position that is well drained, sheltered, and free from frost.
